This flagship scheme aims to empower Indian youth by providing industry-relevant training and enhancing their employability.

CFTI Chennai's Contribution

CFTI Chennai has conducted short-term training for 265 candidates under the PMKVY 4.0 Scheme, who have successfully completed the NSQF-approved courses. The primary objective of this scheme is to cultivate a skilled workforce and foster an enabling ecosystem for youth to acquire skills and pursue career opportunities within the footwear and allied industries.

Training Courses

The training courses of PMKVY are based on the approved QPs (a set of National Occupational Standards) for the Leather Sector as follows:

• Stitching Operator Footwear (LSS/Q2501)
• Stitching Operator Goods and Garments (LSS/Q5501)
